The form is filled and stopped at the Submit button. Open it, check the answers, and click Submit yourself. Don't wait too long: some sites time out and throw away the filled form.
๐
Set up your bot
Three quick steps: connect the extension, add your free key, fill in your profile. Guided, about 5 minutes total.
There's a free trial. Your setup and profile stay saved either way.
๐
Add your Holo API key to start
The bot's vision and decision-making run on your key. Add it once in Settings โ API Keys.
๐ก
Connect to your bot
This browser doesn't have the bot installed, but it can remote-control the computer that does. On that computer: Settings โ Remote access, then enter the two values here.
๐
Set up your profile first
The bot fills applications using your info: name, school, work history, essays. Take 5 minutes to fill it in once, then it applies as you forever.
๐ฌ
Turn on email verification
Some hiring sites email a one-time code to confirm your account. Without an email app password saved, the bot has to stop and ask you. Set it once (about 60 seconds) and it applies straight through.
While the bot works, leave Chrome's yellow "started debugging" bar alone. Closing it (the โ or Cancel) unplugs the bot mid-application. It disappears by itself when the run ends.
Bot is idle
Paste a job URL below or run Autopilot to start applying.
Were you referred by an employee? (optional)
Only for a REAL referral: someone who works there and agreed to refer you. The application will name them. Applies only to the job link you paste above, not to Autopilot.
or
Does both steps in one click: finds matching jobs on LinkedIn, then applies to each one.
How it works
Advanced: saved jobs & queue options
Searches LinkedIn and saves the matches to your list. Applies to nothing.
One list, every source: jobs from Just find jobs, Autopilot leftovers, and links you pasted, merged without duplicates. Links older than a week retire automatically. Skips anything waiting for your review.
Uses the exact URLs from the previous queue. It never selects a new mix.
๐ง Holo model plan:checkingโฆJust bought credits? Generate a NEW key at Portal-H - keys keep the tier they were created on, so a key made before you paid stays free-tier forever. Paste the new key in Settings and the bot re-tests it automatically.
When you start a run, the bot's plain-English actions appear here.

Sending attaches the bot's own logs automatically, you don't need to include anything technical. It goes straight to the developer.
How Autopilot works
Discover: searches LinkedIn for your target roles in your locations (set both in Settings โ Job search).
Check fit: opens each posting and scores it against your profile and filters. Jobs that don't fit get passed over, and you'll see why.
Queue: the jobs that fit line up here. You can remove any of them before the bot reaches them.
Apply: the bot fills each application with your saved info, uploading (or tailoring) your resume. With "Stop before submitting" on, every finished form waits for YOUR click on Submit.
You can watch any step live with ๐ Watch bot, skip a job with โญ, or stop everything with โ Stop.
๐ค While the bot works, it automatically keeps your computer awake and releases it when done. One catch it can't control: closing a laptop's lid still puts it to sleep. Keep the lid open (the screen dimming is fine).

No live events yet. Start a run above, or events will stream here when the bot is running.
Choose a session
Pick a session from the rail to see the bot's full timeline, per-job actions, and tailoring lifecycle.
Sessions are read from ~/Desktop/Knockwork/run-logs/ and ~/Downloads/.
Each session covers ONE bot activity unit, discovery, routing, queue, jobs, tailoring, all bundled.
The aesthetic here is a "tasteful frosted glass" stand-in. Real refraction is a polish pass.
This is the only source Knockwork uses for applicant facts. If a required answer is missing here, the bot stops and asks you instead of inventing one. Everything saves automatically when you click away from a field.
You
Education
Add each college, university, trade program, or other education as its own entry. Knockwork keeps the first entry in the original profile fields too, so the application bot and Tailor Studio continue to use it.
Work eligibility & preferences
Past jobs
Add every job you've had, internships, part-time, side gigs. ATSes often pre-parse your resume into wrong "employment" cards (project names treated as employers); the bot uses this list as ground truth to delete the junk.
Job search & Autopilot
This is what Autopilot actually looks for. Change it any time, the next run uses the new settings.
Fit filters
The bot skips jobs that hit any of these. One entry per line. Leave a box empty to use the built-in defaults.
Resume tailoring
With "Tailor resume" on, an AI rewrites your resume for each specific job before applying. It runs on your own key, you only pay the AI company, per resume.

Your knowledge base
Add extra details such as projects, classes, lab work, volunteering, certifications, and tools. Your personal information, education, and past jobs are sent too.
Strongly recommended: add useful evidence here. More relevant facts give the AI more material for a strong resume.
Why does this help?
There is no small word or paragraph limit. This box accepts up to 1 MB (1,000 KB) of text, roughly 150,000 to 200,000 words, or several full-length novels. The more relevant detail it has, the better. Junk, guesses, and duplicate facts can make the result worse.

2Paste your DeepSeek API key
3Pick how your resume should look
Same content, different design, every style fits one page and reads cleanly by application systems. Click a preview to see it full size.
4Cover letters
When a form requires a cover letter, one gets written on the spot from the resume tailored to that job, so the two never disagree. Turn this on to also attach one where it's optional. Adds about a tenth of a cent of usage per application.
Resume & fallback
Active resume
No resume uploaded
Saved resumes
Keep up to 5 base resumes. Choose Set active to pick the one used when tailoring is off or unavailable.
๏ผ Add another resume
Upload a PDF or another supported resume file. It will be added to Saved resumes and used as the active resume immediately. You can switch later with Set active.
This is your general fallback resume: the one used when tailoring is off, unavailable, or out of credits. With tailoring on, the bot generates a fresh per-job version when credits are available.
โจ Need a polished fallback? Generate one
If your current resume is missing, incomplete, or badly formatted, DeepSeek can create a professional one-page baseline from your saved personal information, education, jobs, and knowledge base. It does not read a job posting. A new fallback is offered only after that saved evidence changes.
Save a DeepSeek API key and knowledge base first.
Keys & Credentials
Three things to paste in. Step 1 is required, steps 2 and 3 are optional but make the bot way more useful. All stay in your Knockwork account, never shared.
Why do I have to do this myself? Can't the bot do it?
Fair question. Two real reasons:
These are YOUR accounts. Your Gmail inbox, your AI credits, your captcha solver. Only you can sign in to make a key on each one. If we tried, the site would block us right away.
Keeping Knockwork cheap. If we ran one shared account for everyone, we'd either charge you a lot more every month (defeating the whole point of a cheap subscription) or the services (Google, 2Captcha, and the rest) would ban us for shared use in a day.
Good news: it's a one-time setup, about ten minutes total. The step-by-step below is written like a recipe, no tech knowledge required.
1Holo key, the bot's brain (required, free)
What's an API key, and is this safe?
An API key is like a prepaid card number for an AI service: your personal pass that lets the bot use the Holo AI under your free account. Paste it once and forget it.
Never share it in screenshots, chats, or emails. It lives only in your browser on this computer, and you can replace it on the Holo website any time.
Bought paid credits? Make a NEW key after paying and paste it here. Keys keep the tier they were created on - a key made while you were on the free plan stays free-tier even after you add money.
Copy the API key from your dashboard, paste below, press Save, or skip this entirely
3Email verification, so the bot can read login codes (recommended, free)
What is an app password, and is this safe?
An app password is a special one-time password Google (or Apple, or Yahoo) makes just for one app. It only lets that app read your email. It is not your regular Gmail password, and you should never paste your regular Gmail password here.
If you ever want to turn it off, delete the app password from your Google account. This bot loses access instantly, but your normal Gmail keeps working like nothing changed. Knockwork stores it encrypted on your account and only uses it to look for a verification code from a hiring site during a run. Your email content is never sent to Holo or to hiring sites.
๐ฎ Which account is this for?
Use the same account shown in Inbox email below. The saved app password must belong to that exact inbox.
Watch and control the bot from your phone or another computer. Both connect through a relay: this computer keeps running the bot, the other device becomes a remote control.
On the other device, open the relay address in a browser and enter this pairing code. Treat it like a password: anyone with it can control your bot.
Maintenance
Retires bot tabs in the background without opening prompts. Filled review tabs stay open; if Chrome cannot safely unload a page, Knockwork leaves it backgrounded and tells you instead of interrupting your computer.
Wipes session state for every ATS the bot has touched, so "you've already applied" warnings don't persist between tests.

Required
The bot cannot run without these.
๐ค About you
This is what gets typed into the name, contact, and address boxes on every application.
๐ Account password
Some hiring sites force you to create an account before you can apply. This becomes the only password Knockwork will use both to create and to sign in to those accounts.
Needs 10+ characters with a capital, 2 numbers, and one of ! @ # $ % ^ & * ? That recipe passes every hiring site we've met.
๐ Education
๐ Work eligibility
Almost every application asks these. Answer once, the bot answers them forever.
๐ผ Past experience
Many application systems require at least one past job, the form literally won't submit without it.
No work experience yet? That's fine, but don't leave this empty.
Use something real you've done and can defend in an interview: a club role, a team you build things with, a volunteer position, a family business, tutoring. It just has to be true, it does NOT have to be a formal job.
More details (optional, but strongly recommended: some application systems require them)
Anything you skip here, the bot answers honestly ("N/A" or "prefer not to say") instead of inventing. You can add more jobs later in Settings โ Your Information โ Past jobs.
๐ Your resume
The bot attaches this to applications. Even if you turn on AI tailoring below, this is the fallback, used when tailoring is off, unavailable, or out of credits.
No resume uploaded yet
No fallback resume yet? That's okay. Choose Yes in Resume tailoring below and, after you save a DeepSeek API key plus your knowledge base, Knockwork can generate a clean general resume from your saved information. It will not use a job posting, and Finish will wait until you upload or generate one.

Why a key at all? So the bot's thinking runs on YOUR free account, not through anyone else's hands. It stays saved, you never do this again.
Highly recommended
The bot runs without these, but they make it work noticeably better.
๐ฌ Email verification
Highly recommended for the bot to work properly. Hiring sites often email a one-time code before an application can continue. With an email app password (not your normal email password) Knockwork reads that code and keeps going by itself. Without it, the bot has to pause at those pages and wait for you. Once saved, the app password is encrypted on the server and used for exactly one thing: reading those verification codes. It is never shown to anyone again, and never given to Holo, the browser extension, or a hiring site.
